LP+ technical overview

LP+, built upon the Microsoft® Learning Gateway Framework, provides a powerful, flexible and future-proofed modern Learning Platform solution. The modular nature of the technology is designed to allow for the integration of other services, data and content. A series of educationally specific 'Web Parts' bind the various applications together under a common navigational and functional interface.

Media Services

LP+ Media Services allows you to store streaming video, audio and other media files. You can allow on-demand access to content in this format, or broadcast content at any time you choose.

Messaging

We believe that good messaging features are key to a successful Learning Platform. LP+ has five different messaging options:

• LP+ email uses Outlook Web Access – email, tasks, contacts and calendars. (The PC-installed Microsoft Outlook client can also be used to access LP+ email.)
• LP+ email can be accessed with Windows Mobile devices on the move through 3G/GPRS. These devices can also be set up for file synchronisation.
• LP+ email can be integrated with the school or local authority Exchange Server.
• LP+ can provide Microsoft Windows Messenger and Communicator functionality for instant messaging and web conferencing.
• Control: You decide who has access to these options, who they can communicate with and how they use these features. We can also provide LP+ email with your own domain email address.
